At Venus, we offer comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) designed to assess the safety, compliance and performance of your electrical systems. Whether you’re a homeowner, landlord, business owner, or property manager, our expert electricians provide thorough inspections and detailed reports that help you maintain safe, functional, and compliant electrical installations.

Why is an EICR Important?

1- Safety First: Faulty or outdated electrical systems pose significant risks, including electrical fires, shocks and equipment damage. A regular EICR helps detect potential hazards before they become serious issues.

2- Legal Requirements: For landlords, an EICR is a legal requirement. Recent UK regulations mandate that rental properties must have an EICR every 5 years and after every tenancy change to ensure the safety of tenants. Failing to do so can result in hefty fines or legal action.

3- Peace of Mind: An up-to-date EICR provides peace of mind knowing that your property is safe and compliant with the latest safety standards. It’s an essential part of your regular property maintenance.

4- Insurance Compliance: Some insurance policies may require an EICR to ensure coverage in the event of an electrical-related incident. This ensures that your property and business are covered in the event of damage or injury.

5- Cost Savings: Regular inspections can identify issues before they become costly repairs, saving you money in the logn run by addressing minor issues early.

Our EICR Process

1

Installations & Appliances will be checked

Many factors will be assessed, such as wiring, fixed electrical equipment, switches, sockets and outdoor installations. We’ll also check the condition and type of wiring system fitted, allowing us to determine whether any replacements are necessary.

2

Electrical Installation Condition Report will be issued

On completion of all tests, you will be provided with an Electrical Installation Condition Report for the building, this will either be “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory”. If the outcome is “satisfactory” then you will be issued your certificate.

3

If necessary, any further work will be scheduled

On the other hand, if your report states that installations and equipment are “unsatisfactory”, immediate action will be taken on those that are dangerous, and non-urgent replacements will be scheduled. This will allow your building to be brought up to “satisfactory”.
